Advertising Sales account executive

  • LATV and ALS are expanding rapidly and are seeking a self-motivated, experienced advertising sales account executive, with deep agency contacts to be based in New York City.

T.V Reporter (15-30 hours)

  • Report and write news stories for publication or broadcast, describing the background and details of events.
  • Examine reports from various sources
  • Gather information, prepare stories, and make broadcasts that inform the public about events;
  • Present points of view on various issues;
  • Report on the actions of public officials, and celebrities and others who exercise power
  • Hosting a show
  • Research about the public official and celebrities prior to hosting a show so that appropriate questions may be asked
  • Determine a story's emphasis, length, and format, and organize material accordingly.
  • Take notes, may take photographs and shoot videos.
  • Organize the material, determine the focus or emphasis, write their stories, and edit accompanying video material.
  • Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
  • Gather information about events through research, interviews, experience, and attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social, and other functions.
  • Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about a particular story.

LATV has a variety of internship opportunities available year-round to currently enrolled college students pursuing careers in TV/Broadcasting and other related fields.

Our Internship program is designed to provide students with an educational experience that complements their academic studies and provides an opportunity to observe and participate in the daily tasks and operations of a television station.

On this site, you will find information and an application for your review and completion. If selected, you will be granted the opportunity to gain invaluable experience. You will be able to:

  • Explore different career interests
  • Observe & participate in daily tasks
  • Develop career-related contacts
  • Enhance understanding of the industry
There are several departments that are available for the program. As indicated in the application, you may choose your top interests, as we will try to accommodate everyone to their chosen fields accordingly. Interns may be placed in any of the following departments:
  • Programming/Production
  • Marketing/Promotions
  • Sales
  • Engineering
  • Operations
  • Accounting/Finance
  • Traffic

Qualifications/Requirements:

To qualify for an internship position, a student must be:
  • In an accredited college or university
  • Eligible to receive academic credit for the internship (internships are non-paid)
  • Must attend between 15 and 20 hours per week (Days and hours are flexible to accommodate to class schedules)
  • Have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Must have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5
  • Being bilingual is a plus

All internships are non-paid and require a student to receive academic credit from their college or university. Previous intern experience and/or a related course of study is preferred, but not required. Most internships require a 15-20 hour commitment per week. Weekend placement is only available for the programming and production areas.
