Biography:

Emmanuel was born Jesus Emmanuel Acha Martinez on April 16, 1955, in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He is the son of the late Argentine-born bullfighter Raul Acha and his first wife wife, Spanish singer Conchita Martinez. Emmanuel debuted in the 1970s.

After winning the song competition sponsored by the Herald in Mexico, the clock struck to start Emmanual’s brilliant career as he launched his CD 10 Razones Para Cantar with label RCA. A year later he recorded the album Amor Sin Final, resulting in his international renown, followed by another exquisite delight: Al Final. In 1980 he sold a million copies of his fourth work Íntimamente. After putting on an extensive tour around Latin America he came out with his fifth album, Tú y Yo. In the early ‘80s, this new idol’s career was re-established with hits like “En la soledad” and “Emmanuel” the songs that brought him to perform for the first time in Spain. 1986 also brought him moments of happiness: he signed with label RCA/Ariola Internacional. Success continued and the singer recorded his next CD. Then in the ‘90s he went on to accrue other achievements and record 5 more albums. With backing from his company, Universal Music, and recharged with the illusion and splendor from his glorious past, Emmanuel stayed on track, never giving up in the face of younger talents. What’s more, in 2003 he recorded his new CD, Emmanual Presenta, a new illusion that brought together different rhythms and melodies. Emmanuel still performs and tours throughout most of Latin America doing concerts.
